How can Botox be used to treat Hyperhidrosis?
Botulinum toxin (Botox), a nerve toxin that can temporarily block neurotransmitters and paralyze muscle. It has actually been used in many areas of medicine for years, such as in the treatment of muscle spasms, and certain types of headaches. Botox is also a medication that is injected subdermally into the skin to treat hyperhidrosis. A suitable amount of Botox is injected in the palm or underarm to block nerves. Thus a decrease in sweating is noted after the injections.
